Last time we began looking at some strategic things we need to put in place for us to have a great year. By the way may I wish you a happy new year. May this year be your best so far.

We have seen the fact that life doesn’t just happen and for us to succeed in the New Year we must have a right perspective. Perspective is fundamental. We must see ourselves in the right light. We must not allow what we have gone through in the old year to define who we are. The situations and circumstances that we have been grilled through should not be allowed to shape how we see ourselves. The fact that we made some mistakes or committed some errors does not make us failures. Someone said you are not a failure until you agree. If we see ourselves from a negative point of view we sentence ourselves to a life of limitation.

No matter what we have gone through, whether success or failure we can still make appreciable success. We can still make advances in whatever we do. As long as we do not give up and as long as we see ourselves in the right light there is hope ahead of us. As long as we have breath in our nostrils we can still make progress in life. Life is not as bad as it looks –we must look at the bright side.

One other area where we must have a right perspective is the way we see people. If we are to live a life devoid of disappointment we must see people in the right light. We must understand that in life nobody is obliged to help us.  If anybody does anything for us then we must see it as a bonus. We must take responsibility for our own life. If we succeed or fail we must see it as “our fault”.

Far too many people expect too much from people and from society and when they don’t get what they think they deserve they get upset and wallow in pity, bitterness and pain. There is no greater setback in life than thinking the world or anybody owes you anything.

As we proceed in the New Year we must be accurate in our living and take full responsibility for our life. We have only one life to live and we must resolve to live it to the fullest. We must locate and decide exactly what we want to achieve in the year. I see you succeeding and having a great year.
