THE world has indeed gone mad. Why else would anyone attack innocent people who gather together to pray to God.  It does not make sense to kill unarmed people that pose no threat whatsoever. Nigeria is big enough to contain people of different languages, cultures, beliefs and norms. It is sheer lunacy to want to impose Sharia Law in a none Islamic

Nation. The actions of Islamic fanatics worldwide portray Islam as a rather aggressive and hateful religion. Why would anyone want to belong to a faith that does not respect God’s creation? The same God in whose name these ridiculous killings are carried out. At least 32 people died and 52 wounded on their latest killing spree on Christmas day at st. Theresa Catholic Church Madalla, Niger State Nigeria.

As cries of aguish rose in Nigeria , UK was still basking in Christmas bliss when news of the killing of 23 year old micro electronics postgraduate Indian student Anuj Bidve broke. According to witnesses Anuj was walking with friends from their hotel towards the city centre in Salford Greater Manchester when they saw two men on the other side of the road. One of them a white man in his 20s approached Anuj and asked for the time and for no apparent reason  opened fire before fleeing on foot. Though a clear motive has not been established for the killing, hate crime is not ruled out. Mr Mulligan, divisional commander for Salford, said: "We have not established a clear motive for the senseless murder of Anuj, and there is no definitive evidence pointing to it being racially motivated. "However, we are treating this as a hate crime based on the growing perceptions within the community it was motivated by hate."  Witnesses who watched Anuj dying claims the killing appears to be “very racial”

As Salford police tries to unravel the motive behind Anuj killing, and thousands of bargain hunters descended on the high streets, 18 year old Seydou Diarrassouba, was knifed in the heart after a fight broke out in Foot Locker Oxford street London, as two rival gangs out on a shoplifting spree clashed over which trainers to steel.   Seydou  a member of the notorious London street gang ABM ( All’Bout Money) left his home on a council estate in Mitcham, South London with his gang members with the intention of using the sales rush as a cover for shoplifting. Unfortunately, they ran into their rival 031 Bloods gang and violence erupted in front of shoppers and Foot Locker became a battle zone followed by bloodbath. As paramedics tried to save Seydou,  spectators shamelessly pushed against police tying to film the body of the dying college student. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 1.45pm. According to one of his friends ‘Around other members  he was a bubbly character,  but not when he came across his enemies. That was a different story. ‘You certainly couldn’t trust him. He had a cold and ruthless side to him, and could turn on you in an instant if you were not one of his own.’

As if that was not enough death, on the same Boxing Day, 19 year old Catherine Wynter also known as Katie, was stabled to death as she babysat her young niece and nephew. Her body was discovered by her mother Joy at 8am on Tuesday when she let herself in. Kate had spent Boxing Day night at her sister's house in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire looking after her two young relatives as a favour to her sister who was out working. Police think she opened the door to a man she knew. Neighbours are said to have heard screams in the early hours. The children, aged three and four, were in the house at the time of the murder but were not injured. They are being treated as potential witnesses.

In a statement, Miss Wynter's family said she was ''a quiet girl who enjoyed life. She was a loving auntie to her niece and nephew who she was looking after on Boxing Day. We would ask not to be contacted by members of the media and that our privacy is respected to allow us to grieve together as a family.'' Officers believe the teenager was attacked at some point between 7pm on Boxing Day and 8am on Tuesday, when they were called to the scene. A post-mortem examination confirmed that Miss Wynter, died as a result of stab injuries. The next day, 27th December, 23 year old Scott Cooke was also stabbed to death following a dispute involving 20 men at the Monkmoor Recreation Ground in Shrewsbury. Seven men have been arrested in connection with the death, five of them on suspicion of murder.
