MANCHESTER United's injury problems have improved before today's Premier League trip to Chelsea with long-term midfield absentees, Ashley Young and Tom Cleverley back in the squad, manager Alex Ferguson said.

Other players back in the frame for today's match are winger Nani, striker Wayne Rooney and goalkeeper David de Gea as the champions seek their first Premier League win at Stamford Bridge for a decade.

Young has been sidelined for several weeks with a knee injury, while Cleverley has been out of action since October with an ankle problem.

"We're are a bit better this week... we hope that Rooney, Nani, Young, Cleverley will all be in the squad," Ferguson told a news conference.

"It is more likely Tom will play against Chelsea reserves on Monday (tomorrow) but he is travelling with the team anyway."

De Gea missed the side's midweek victory over Stoke City but is expected to return to action in place of the injured Anders Lindegaard, who played in six of seven matches between Dec. 21 and Jan. 22.

"It looks like Lindegaard will be out for at least four weeks, maybe five to six, with ankle ligament damage," Ferguson added.

"We don't know what his recovery from injuries is like, so we'll have to wait and see, but I would have thought at least four weeks."

Meetings between Chelsea and United have in recent seasons played key parts in the championship with the last seven titles having been won by one of the two clubs.

Meanwhile, ANDRE Villas-Boas may have conceded Chelsea is out of the Premier League title race but his side's superb home record against Manchester United means it can still influence the final destiny of the championship.

Sir Alex Ferguson's United last won in the league at Stamford Bridge 10 years ago and the rivalry between the clubs burns as fiercely as ever, despite the 12-point gap that currently separates the two sides.

United is locked in a battle with its near neighbour Manchester City at the head of the table, while Chelsea's immediate challenge is to tighten its grip on fourth place.

John Terry will miss the game with a knee injury but while the fall-out from the Football Association's decision to strip him of the England captaincy has overshadowed Chelsea's preparations, Ferguson is well aware of the challenge posed by Villas-Boas' side.

"It's not an easy game going to Stamford Bridge. We haven't beaten them since 2002, which is a decade," said the United manager.

"In that period, Chelsea's rise to prominence has been obvious and the last seven years, we have battled with them for league titles. Therefore, you expect a hard game and it will be.

"I hope our form will stand up as it did in the Arsenal game.”

Meanwhile, FERNANDO Torres is confident he can end his four-month goal famine for Chelsea.

The Spanish ace has not hit the target in the Premier League since September 24 when he netted and was then sent off against Swansea.

Torres, 27, is back in boss Andre Villas-Boas' plans to face Manchester United today after being frozen out earlier this season.

Torres said: "I'm trying to get better. Sometimes you must work hard.

"I'll keep doing that and hopefully lift a cup here.

"The start of the season was one of the hardest moments of my career. But the fans got behind me and they've given me something to fight for.”
