The word of God

ShareTHERE was a Haman who was a special adviser to the king. He knew the legal system of that kingdom very well that when the king puts his authority on a written document, no man could change it. He conspired against the Jews and planned to destroy them all. The king did not know his plan; he just signed the document giving consent to the destruction of God’s children. Esther needed to act fast. But she had to appear before the king against the unchangeable laws of that land.

“Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my middens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.” Esther 4 v 16.

The action of Esther was a risk to her life. God, whose word alone is settled forever in heaven, intervened. The first thing He did was to suspend the law that forbade Esther from appearing before the king. Secondly, He reversed the sentence contained in the letter the king had ignorantly signed. In order words, God changed the unchangeable laws of Persia and Media to prove to the world that it is only His word that cannot change.

This is the reason He is called the unchangeable changer. He is the Lord of lords and the King of kings. He kills and makes alive. He speaks and it is done. He declares and it is settled. He sends His word and the mission is accomplished. He dethrones one and enthrones another. He lifts the poor from their lowly estate to sit in the midst of princess. It is only the word of this everlasting King that is settled forever.

The word of God abides forever. Everything will change, but the word will remain. Times and seasons will change, but the word will remain steadfast. Jesus confirmed how enduring the word of God is. This word is a master key that cannot fail.

“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one little shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” Matth. 5 v 18.

The word of God is powerful. The reason is that God and His word are one. Begin to imagine how powerful the word of God is. The word of God can do anything that God can do. The word of God is God.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” In. 1 v 1.

Very clearly, the word of God shares the same attributes with God. The word of God started existing from the beginning. It is a beginning that has no beginning. God Himself has no beginning. He is eternal. The word of God proceeds from eternity as well.

The reference above also says the word has been with God from the beginning. It means God and His word are partners that live together. There is nothing about God that His word does not know. That is why God’s word reveals God. It has always been with God from the beginning.

To finally remove all doubts and guess works, the scriptures declare that the word of God is God. If anyone does not understand what it means for the word to have been with God from the beginning, the bible concludes by saying the word is God. When you think of the God who divided the Red Sea, begin to think of His word that can do the same. When you pour your heart over the greatness of God’s power to heal and deliver, begin to realize that His word can do the same. In fact, many times God does not bother to act Himself He just sends His word to do exactly what He would do. Share
