43-year-old man murdered in Ibadan •Killers take mum to see his corpse
A 43-year-old goldsmith, Mr Yakubu Azeez Ojutalayo, was in the early hours of Saturday murdered by people suspected to be hired assassins at his house in Olunde, Olomi Area of Ibadan.
Sunday Tribune gathered that the killers, who came to the man’s house at around 2 a.m., gained entry into the sitting room through the outer ceiling of the house and went to meet Mr Azeez in his room where they killed him.
Sunday Tribune was told that the killers, numbering three, went to the next building where the mother and children of Mr Azeez were sleeping and dragged the old woman to go and behold his son’s lifeless body.
Mr Azeez, who has his shop at Oranyan Area of Ibadan, had on Friday, 3rd February, 2012, marked the 22nd anniversary of his father’s death. It was gathered that his wife travelled out of Ibadan immediately after the ceremony.
Blood stain was seen on the bed sheet, on the floor of the sitting room and on the steering of a jeep car parked inside the house premises with the window and rear windscreen of the jeep shattered by the killers.
Mr Azeez, who Sunday Tribune gathered was a staunch Muslim, built the mosque beside his house and was loved by everybody.
While his corpse was deposited at Adeoyo State Hospital, Yemetu, Ibadan, the matter was reported at the Sango Police Division.
The Divisional Police Officer, Mr Abiola Haruna, confirmed the incident saying that the police had commenced investigation into the killing.
