Ogbeni Banjo accepts Amosun’s offer to serve on Odu’a firm

A one-time governorship candidate of the National Conscience Party in Ogun State, Ogbeni Lanre Banjo, has accepted to serve the people of Ogun State under His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, as a Director of Glanvill Enthoven Company (GEC) of Nigeria, one of the companies in the Odu’a Investment Group of Companies. GEC is a leading Insurance and Reinsurance Broker in Nigeria. It handles all classes of general insurance and, through wholly owned subsidiary companies, also handles Reinsurance, Life and Employee Benefit Insurance.

Banjo contested the governorship seat in 2003, 2007 and 2011. He became a Certified Public (Chartered) Accountant in the United States of America in 1986. He obtained his Masters in Finance from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1987 anda Bachelor of Business Administration with concentration in Accounting from the University of the District of Columbia in 1984.

Prior to establishing his own accounting firm, he managed financial, performance and compliance audits of numerous state and local governments, nonprofit and for-profit entities in the US. He provided accounting support services, internal control, efficiency studies, compliance reviews, and consulting.

He also participated in a large engagement of US federal agencies, where he provided financial statement support and assisted in the implementation of automated financial management system.
