NSCDC is committed to ensuring Jonathan’s transformation agenda—Commandant-General

THE Commandant-General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ade Abolurin has reiterated the commitment of the para-military body towards ensuring the transformation agenda of the current administration in Ngieria.

Dr. Abolurin made the pledge in Ibadan on Saturday during a visit to the Oyo State command of the NSCDC, which he said was to resensitise men of the command on the need to redouble their effoerts in defending members of the public, in view of the current security challenges which Nigeria had been going through.

Referring to the NSCDC as an essential organ of government security bodies, the Commandant-General emphasised that the corps could not afford to fail in its responsibilities.

He also revealved that 24 suspects had been prosecuted by the corps in the last one week, commending the collaborative efforts of other security agencies such as the Nigerian Army, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) in checking the activities of pipeline vandals.

Abolurin added that 10 in addition to this, truck load of jery cans filled with petroleum products were impounded within the week.

In his response, the Oyo State Commandant, Mr. Stephen Paiko, assured Dr Abolurin that his men would redouble their efforts towards reducing the activities of vandals in the state.
