ASIDE being a talented footballer, you have also been adjudged to be one of the most stylish sportsmen out of Africa, what does style mean to you?
I think we are all stylish. It depends on how you see it, we all love good things. It’s all about putting what I like together and make it work for me.

How would you define your style?
Casual with sophisticated twist

Any lifestyle material you can’t do without?
I like cologne to a fault.

What kind of sunglasses and colognes do you have in your closet?
I wear Rayban sunglass .For my cologne, I wear Guerlain.

What of your shoes, which label do you go for?
I don’t have a specific label; I wear different kind of shoes as long as it’s comfortable.

What of cars?
I’m not a car freak, I drive Mercedes.

What about shirts and suites?
I like Kooples shirts and suits, it’s a French design

Wristwatches?
I wear sports watches, like G-shock

Adebayo Jones

As someone who has met various sportsmen all over the world, can you mention a few sportsmen that you admire their styles?
They are many, but I particularly admire Novak Djokovic, Seydou Keita and Sylvain Wiltord.

Where is your favourite shopping spot and why?
I shop at Polygone in France. It’s a one-stop shopping arena. They have everything from food stuff to whatever.

When you are not on the pitch, how do you relax?
By watching movies and listening to music.

What’s your favourite music and why?
I listen to different kinds of music, from rap to rhythm and blues. It could be American or Nigerian.

What kind of drinks do you take?
I take soft drinks

I like Pastas

I don’t have any. I go anywhere.

Your preferred colour?
I like green.

Since you left Portsmouth for Montpellier HSC, not much has been heard about you, what's the situation with your football career?
I am doing very well at Montpellier FC. The game is not just about me, football is a collective sport.

Some have insinuated that leaving England contributed to the waning of your popularity, is this true?
It’s not about popularity; it’s about being passionate in what you do. I love playing football. Defend your shirt whether you find yourself in the East, West, North or South.

Aside football, what other things do you do?
I use my spare time to do more charity work, with the John  Utaka foundation.

Can you recount how you got the big break in your football career?
My big break came in 1998, when I had the opportunity to sign for Arab Contractors of Egypt. It was, for me, a breakthrough.
