THERE are many people who are in captivity. They can’t point a finger to any achievement they have made since the year began. Now that the year is gradually coming to an end, they have not had any breakthrough in their lives.

Nothing happens on its accord. What you don’t make happen, never happens. That is why I want to show you one of the things to do, to make your breakthrough a reality. It is getting hold of God’s Word.

If at the beginning of this year, God has said something about that area of your life where you desire victory, it is your responsibility to search it out from His Word. God’s Word says: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). You need a personal knowledge of what God has said. Knowledge, they say, is power. The knowledge of God’s Word that you have about your situation, will make you a victor.

There was a time my son, David Junior’s temperature started rising. This feverish condition persisted for two days. He began to vomit his food and suffered sleeplessness. People said the symptom was normal because he would soon develop his upper milk teeth.

I set myself to find out what God has to say concerning children, whose upper teeth are developing. I began studying God’s Word. I discovered that the Bible does not say that the development of a child’s milk teeth should be accompanied by a feverish condition, sleeplessness and vomiting.

The Holy Spirit began to illuminate my heart with the revelation of the relevant scriptures. I discovered that children are God’s blessings which do not bring sorrow (Proverbs 10:22). I discovered also that my child has an angel that owes him a protection duty (Matthew 18:10). Finally, I discovered where an assurance is given (Isaiah 49:25). When you locate God’s Word that addresses your situation, believe and act on it, your breakthrough becomes a reality.

Friend, the power to get hold of God’s Word is the privilege of those saved. You get saved by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. If you are set for this, please say this prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I am born again!
