Maximizing your potential! (III)
WELCOME to your regular column. Last week, we learnt how you can stir up your mind to maximize your potential by observation. This week, I will teach on another key that will enable you to maximize your potential — meditation.
I consider meditation as a concentrated mental attention. Spiritually, the more mental attention you give to any scripture, the more insight you have into it. Maximizing your potential requires the practice of meditation (1Timothy 4:13, 15).
What you read is not profitable until it is digested. Mental digestion requires meditation. Practically, meditation means sitting on an issue mentally, until you are able to see through into a solution. So, you don’t only meditate on scriptures, you meditate on issues as well.
Maybe, there is a problem in your family. You ask yourself, “What do I consider as the root cause of this problem? When did this problem actually begin? What have I done to date to solve this problem?” You sit on that issue until light is shed on it. The moment you can see what your problem is, you are half way through solving it. There is always a way out of every problem. God will never allow a problem that is beyond you to come your way. All you need to do is to accept practical responsibility in dealing with the issues of life.
The Holy Spirit has been given to you to empower your mind for excellence, if you are a child of God. It’s your duty to engage that empowered mind, to chart a way of escape from troubles. The more effective you are in meditation, the more mentally distinct you will become.
Friend, the grace for meditation is available, if you are connected to God. You get connected by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. You can do so now as you say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Deliver mefrom sin and satan, to serve the Living God. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me!
I know this teaching has blessed you.
