The greatest need of mankind!
There are many people who are stranded, because they don’t know what they need in life. The help of God is the answer to all the questions of your life. It is the greatest need of mankind.
God’s Word says: Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it (Psalm 127:1). Without God, there is nothing you build that can stand, because the slightest wind will blow it off. Your strength, speed and skill notwithstanding, without God’s help, everything is equal to vanity (Ecclesiastes 9:11).
May be, you have neglected God since the beginning of the year, thinking that you can do things on your own. You can’t succeed just like that! You need to make a U-turn for God’s help in your life. You need His help which does not fail!
One of the ways of connecting to the flow of divine help is by acknowledging your helplessness. Acknowledge the fact that you can’t help yourself. If you don’t, God’s help will elude you. God specializes in fathering the fatherless, helping widows and the helpless. His help is most available to those who recognize their helplessness.
The Bible tells a story of how Solomon sought God’s help. When he became the king of Israel, God told him to ask whatever he wanted. He realized his helplessness, saying that he lacked the wisdom to rule over his subjects. God was pleased with his request. God in return gave him wisdom, riches and honour (1 Kings 3:5-13). When you recognize your helplessness, God is excited to help you.
Another thing you do to tap into the help of God is staying on the Lord only. God is a jealous God and He can’t stand a double dealing (Exodus 20:5-6). Every time you have divided focus, God will withdraw His help from you. He never shares His glory with anyone (Isaiah 42:8). For your expectation not to be frustrated, you must wait only on God (Psalm 62:5). When your expectation is only from the Lord, you qualify for His help without struggle.
Friend, you need wisdom from God to be able to wait on Him, if you are connected to Him. You get connected as you confess your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. That is how to be born again. You can be born again now if you are not, as you say this prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me!
