The issue of wisdom

Share

ONE of the greatest assets we can acquire in life is wisdom. Wisdom is an indispensible tool to making life a success.

When we lack wisdom, we get stranded and life becomes difficult. If we really look at most problems critically we can safely conclude that every problem is the same. The only problem in this world anybody has is a wisdom problem. If we can acquire the requisite wisdom we will be on top of our game in all we do. No man has a financial problem – all he has is a financial wisdom problem. Give the man with a so-called financial problem financial wisdom and he is out of the woods if he applies such wisdom. A man who has marital problems just needs to acquire and apply marital wisdom and his marriage gets transformed to a heaven-on-earth-relationship. Every problem or crisis is simply the result of lack of wisdom or inadequate application of wisdom. Think about it, if we all have applicable wisdom we will never be stuck, stranded or at a loss as what to do per time. Wisdom gives light that empowers whoever embraces it to navigate his way out of any darkness, confusion or crisis.

The tragedy of many lives is that they seek that which does not last. Far too many people have wrong priorities in life. Countless people spend their time, effort and money to chase what does not last and what does not work. Precious resources are filtered away dealing with symptoms instead of the real issues If we can devout such effort and resources to acquiring and applying wisdom life will be a different ball game.

“Above all and before all, do this: Get Wisdom! Write this at the top of your list: Get Understanding!” Proverbs 4:7

Wisdom is the opposite of foolishness and there is absolutely nothing foolishness cannot destroy.

When we lack wisdom, we set ourselves up for a life of foolishness, failure, frustration and regret.

Lack of wisdom makes us clueless when we are faced with the problems life bombards us with.

Our greatest pursuit in life should be wisdom. When we have wisdom we will have answers to the questions of life. Wisdom will enable us to set right priorities and help us set proper goals. When we acquire and properly apply wisdom we will not only know what needs to be done at each point in time but also what need not be done. Wisdom will enable us know where to turn and what to do when we get to the different junctions of life.

Wisdom will help us know who to relate with. Wisdom will empower us to manage and maximize relationships. Wisdom will help us know those we can be close with and those we must keep at bay.

“If an ax is blunt and the edge isn’t sharpened, then one has to use more strength. But wisdom prepares the way for success.” Ecclesiastes 10:10.

Next time we will look at the different types of wisdom and how to acquire wisdom.
