Your life counts
Living intentionally -Part 2
Last time, we began looking at the fact that we have only one life to live and that we must live life intentionally on purpose. Life will only be meaningful and fulfilled if we discover and live intentionally in pursuance of our purpose.
Let me ask you a few questions. Do you know the reason and the purpose why you are alive? What would you want done before you exit this world – if you knew you were to die in six months time, what are the things you would want done before then? What would you do if you know you cannot fail and you had all the resources you need to succeed? What would you want to spend your life doing if being paid is not an issue? What legacy do you want to be remembered for when you are dead? Why are you alive and what are you out to accomplish with your life?
The answers to these questions are very important if we are to live a life of purpose. The inability of many people to proffer answers to these questions is a major reason people just live life without meaning and without direction. When we have the right answers to these questions then we can start to live life intentionally. Our lives will only count if we have found answers to these questions and we are living intentionally in pursuance to the answers.
Life is a process – we do not just become a success overnight or by accident. Any success that happens overnight or by chance will also be lost the same way. Living life intentionally is the process we need to take to be a success in life. We need to work on ourselves to live intentionally as the environment is designed to make us live otherwise. This will demand swimming against the tide most of the time.
“Your big dream always lies outside your comfort zone. You have to choose between your dream and comfort.” Bruce Wilkenson
We must consciously see ourselves as a people who are alive on a definite assignment. We are here on a mandate and we are the most important resource to making a success of our lives. We must be committed to our life assignment and develop our selves to getting the job done well.
“We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” Jesse Owens
As we are the most important resource to our success we must have a right perspective to ourselves as its only then we will be able acquire the necessary equipments and tools (education, training, skills, personnel etc) we need to enhance the successful execution of our purpose. Real success is in maximizing our lives and the resources we acquire along the way. All this cannot happen if we do not live intentionally.
We cannot make any tangible impact with our lives if we just let life happen to us. We cannot make a difference with our lives if we slip into the murky waters of living life by default, when we do not have a definite plan for our lives. Beloved, you have only one life to live so, live it intentionally in the pursuit of your God-given dream.
“Life without a purpose is a languid, drifting thing; every day we ought to review our purpose, saying to ourselves, ‘This day let me make a sound beginning, for what we have hitherto done is naught!’” -Thomas Kempis
