ShareYESTERDAY, the medical director replied.  She asked “Did anybody see me around here yesterday? I was off duty.” She asked the doctor to check the roster.  But astonishingly, he said that was not the issue.  He said when the carton of paracetamol was discovered missing he had called everybody and all had unanimously said whenever she (Mrs Mark) was seen, the carton would materialize and so now she had  come back,  the carton of paracetamol should materialize without question. The more she tried to explain that she did not know anything about the missing carton, the more he insisted she should confess. Then she started weeping. The nurses who were at the corridor overhearing the conversation began to add salt to her injury by saying “thief, shedding crocodile tears.”

Thirty minutes later, the phone rang and somebody at the pharmaceutical store where they had gone to buy medical supplies the previous day was on the line.  He said “Yesterday, when you people were taking away your purchased drugs, you forgot a carton of paracetamol here, so please send someone to come and collect it.”

The medical director who received the call, sent the driver who  went and collected it.  The rest who did not get to know about the phone call that came in, but learnt that the carton of paracetamol had been found, simply concluded “we said it that once she comes, the thing will appear, thief.’’

One would think they would apologize to her but they kept calling her names. When she could not take it any longer, she came to me and  said “Pastor Oyor, this is the third place this kind of thing will be happening to me, I better go to my village, let me die in my village.’’ I said, sister, there are demons in your village too. So going to your village does not mean you will not have a repeat of this false accusation. Let’s deal with the problem here.

What I told this lady is what I am telling you too now.  Let us deal with things that are making you suffer innocently, in silence.

• As from today, I will not suffer for crimes I know nothing about in Jesus’ name.
• Whoever you are, following me about to disgrace me, catch fire in Jesus’ name.
