ACTING Super Eagles head coach, Austin Eguavoen is banking on the serious approach of his players ahead of today's match against Madagascar to earn the team a handsome win.

The Eagles confront the Barea of Madagascar at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar as the journey to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations to be co-hostd by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea begins across the continent.

Eguavoen, who led the Super Eagles to third place at the 2006 African Nations Cup in Egypt, has been installed as the interim coach after the resignation of Swedish tactician, Lars Lagerback.

The Eguavoen led Super Eagles lost 1-2 to South Korea in a friendly last month.

However, desperate to bring back smiles on the faces of Nigerians, he said that the team will put in its best to achieve a good result today.

“It has to be an outright victory, nothing short of victory. We will do our best to make Nigerians happy, we will try to score goals, with the like of Michael Eneramo, Obafemi Martins, Osaze Odemwingie and Kalu Uche who are in form, we will come out with a convincing win," said the former Super Eagles defender.

Perhaps, Nigerians would expect nothing but victory today having  watched the team flopped at the mundial in South Africa and this Eguavoen and his players know, hence their determination not only to win but to win well.
