Watch out for improved 3SC –Amoo

Share

CHIEF Coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Fatai Amoo is confident that the team would live up to expectations in the new season.

The ex-international who has just returned from a refresher course in the United States of America (USA) said that enough the machinery has been put in place towards making 3SC a better team this season.

How was your refresher course in the United States?
Honestly, I felt happy that I attended the course which lasted seven weeks. The  course was organised by the National Association of American Soccer coaches, which is the biggest association of coaches in the world.

I was privileged to attend because of my curriculum vitae. To qualify for the course, you must have a Higher Diploma in coaching. The course was highly intensive and I gained more knowlegde about the tactical aspect of football and also, I was able to know more about modern football. We were taught about soccer analysis, match reading which invovled both practical and theory. I must say the course came at the right time. Now, I am a member of the association  and next season, I hope to go there again.

How prepared is your team for the new season?
Really, the screening has been going on well. We are not after the number of players that came to our screening but the number of quality players that could meet the requirements to play for us. I am still expecting some players to show up for the trials but by and large, we are poised to have a beautiful season this time round.

It cannot be a total overhaul of the team but there are areas so essential that we must get the players for to strengthen the team.

Can we know some of the players you are still expecting?
Uche Henry and Kabiru Alausa, who once played for us are already with us but we are still expecting Suswan Ternan who plays from the left back and Tunde Daniel among others. As I said earlier, we would only give quality players the chance to be part of the team and this is the essence of the excercise.

I believe with the players on the ground, we can compete with likes of Enyimba, Kano Pillars, Rangers and with the backing of the team's managment board, the sky will be our limit this season.

I want to assure our teeming fans that they would see a rebranded Shooting Stars next season more importantly, our target is to get a continental ticket which I believe is achievable with God on our side.
