SAMSON Siasia's hope of stepping into the post of Super Eagles' chief coach will be decided this weekend as the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, awaits final word from Lars Lagerback.

Lagerback led Nigeria to the South Africa 2010  World Cup but his contract expires this weekend.

The NFF interim Vice-President, Solomon Ogba revealed to sportswriters in Abuja that the body had not hidden its intention to engage Siasia but that Lagerback remains in charge until the expiration of this weekend.

''Lagerback has said that we should give him time, we can only come out on Siasia after this weekend when we must have heard from Lagerback,'' said Ogba.

However, he revealed that Daniel Amokachi's contract with the NFF may not be renewed if Lagerback is no longer interested in the Nigerian job.

Ogba added that Austin Eguavoen will be asked to take over the country's U-23 team for the All Africa Games and Olympic Games in London 2014.
