Obesere is Environmental Ambassador

ShareABASS Akande Obesere has been made the Lagos State Enviromental Ambassador for using his music to call attention to issues regarding the aquatic state’s degenerating  environmental conditions.

Excited about the gesture, the most consistent fuji musician assured that the honour would get him to continue his awareness crusade on  environmental hazards in the state.

According to him, the coastline location of Lagos has its advantage and disadvantages, but that awareness on the negative sides could be  turned to positive.

“Anything is possible in life if we have faith and if we demonstrate it by our works. Governor Fashola has never stopped harping on the dangers of environmental hazards, it is very important that residents heed these warnings,” he said.

The fuji musician blame global warming on the  uncontrolled abuse of the environment. “We now hear of floods, mud slides, etc, in many countries, we can’t be too sure that we are safe until we adhere to instructions on protective measures being advocated by Lagos State.

“I promise to continue to use my music to create awareness on government and individual’s efforts in stopping environmental abuse”, he said.

Meanwhile, the Asakasa crooner, has applauded Kollington’s efforts in bringing harmony to fuji music house when he warned musicians to sheath their swords at a meeting recently.

Obesere promised to turn a new leaf as he’s now an ambassador in Lagos.

Muiz Banire, Commissioner for Environment, bestowed the honour on Obesere at the LTV8 in Ikeja, Lagos, few days ago.
