KING Sunny Ade and TuFace will thrill guests at the 1st National Economic Development Funds Awards (NACODA 2010), which holds between September 27 and 28, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
A press statement by the publicity secretary of the award committee, Elhadj AbuSatar Hamed, said that the event, organised by The Nigerian Capital Development Fund, is to mark the 50th Anniversary of Nigeria and NCDF’s second year anniversary.
Hamed said the awardees where carefully chosen by the reputable Award Committee are distinguished Nigerians who have significantly contributed to the socio-economic development of Nigeria with a view to encourage and serve as an incentive to improve their efficiency and effectiveness in our economic system.
He said Nigerian Capital Development Fund Award Committee, have emerged in Nigeria to champion the cause of the micro and rural entrepreneurs, and with a shift from the supply-led approach to a demand driven strategy.
Names of awardees, received from private and public nominations,are the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, chairman board of directors, NCDF, Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Niger State governor, Alhaji Muazu Babangida Aliyu, Ondo State governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, Akwa Ibom governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio and Mr Femi Otedola.
Others are Air Chief Marshal Paul Dike, Professor Dora Akunluyi, Senator Nkechi Justina Nwaogu, Professor Pat Utomi, Barr. Jimoh Ibrahim and Dr. Bamanga Tukur.
