Thousands of Muslim faithfuls attended the much-expected Lailatul-Quadr, held at the prayer ground of  Nasul-Lahi-L-faith society of Nigeria (NASFAT), Samonda, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The South-West Zone 4, Ibadan, played host to a mammoth congregation of muslims from all local governments of Oyo State.

The programme, was anchored by the Zonal and Branch Missioner of NASFAT, Alhaji Saadudeen Adekilekun  Abdul -Kadri.

Alhaji Adekilekun enjoined all muslims to seek for forgiveness of their sins on regular basis, most importantly during this Ramadan.

The chairman of NASFAT, South-West Zone 4, Ibadan, Alhaji Abdul Jekeel Abdul Azeez, also expressed happiness with the attendance, emphasising the need for serious prayers for the country.

He posited that the panacea to the problems bedevelling the country can be surmounted through prayers.

He also appealed to the congregation to show moral and finacial support to Fountain University, which was single-handedly established and financed by NASFAT.

As at 8.00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, the venue had been filled to the brim by Muslims from all walks of  life, appearing in white uniformed garment (Jalamiha), with the intention of sharing in the blessing usually bestowed on faithfuls at the special annual prayer session of the society.

The main entrance of the venue to the praying ground witnessed massive movement of people in and out of the venue, with security personnel strategically positioned to forestall any form of disorderliness.

The prayer commenced at 10.30 p.m., with the recitation of weekly Asalatu prayers, where the congregation in their thousands, sought for the forgiveness of their sins and quest for prosperity and long life.

Sunday Tribune gathered that the annual prayer session was not without signs, as a woman was successfully delivered of a set of twins at the event.

The ceremony, which was also attended by several dignitaries, included the former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Ladoja.
