We will drag Jonathan to court if ... —Group

DELTA State’s elders and stakeholders led by Ijaw national leader, Chief Edwin Clark, on Saturday, held a rally in Effurun, Delta State, in support of President Goodluck Jonathan to contest for the presidency of Nigeria in next year’s election.

Addressing the rally, the national coordinator of Goodluck for Nigeria Movement, Mr. Charles Efe, said his group would drag President Jonathan to court if he declined to run for the 2011 general elections.

Prominent among those in attendance were former Anambra State Governor, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, former House of Representatives member, Hon. Sidi Ali, Senators Eferakaiya and James Manager.

Others were the governorship aspirants in Delta State, Ovie Omo Agege, John Kpopogri, Minister for Education, Chief Kenneth Gbagi and many other prominent politicians.

He said the movement which operates mostly from the Diaspora is totally committed to the emergence of President Jonathan and therefore solicited for the support and understanding of Nigerians irrespective of tribes or zone.

Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife charged the Niger Deltans to be united in the struggle for the emergence of President Jonathan in the next election and promised that the people of the ‘across the Niger ” would support the project.
