A gubernatorial aspirant under the umbrella of the  CPC in Bauchi State, Sarki Abdullahi Adamu, has said that yet to be identified gunmen attacked his Sabon Garin Narabi residence in Toro Local Government Area of the state, twice within one week, with the intention of killing him.

He also claimed that Chinese working in his farm narrowly escaped death when the hoodlums visited and killed one of the guards in the farm house.

Abdullahi Sarki Adamu made the allegations Saturday while briefing newsmen on the attack on his residence,  saying, “unknown gun- men stormed my residence and told my security men and aides that they came to kill. They shot one of my security guards who later died. They also shot my junior brother in the leg and fled. Ten days earlier, they stormed the staff quarters of my company and attacked four Chinese expatriates working for the company,” he alleged.

The gubernatorial aspirant further said that, “we have reported the two episodes to the state Police Command because they are in charge of internal security; they are investigating the matter; after the first attack the police beefed up security around my house, may be that was the reason they came the second time and didn’t enter my residence but stormed the staff quarters of my expatriate workers near my residence.”

He also said that the attempts to assassinate him because of his struggle would not in any way deter him from getting the nod of his party to contest and eventually win the gubernatorial election in Bauchi State. Rather, he stated, “it will only encourage me to continue to struggle and be determined to win the election in order to provide good governance and render services that would develop our people.”

The gubernatorial aspirant then declared that he would not point accusing fingers at anybody over the attacks, since the police are already investigating the matter.

But “whoever wants to kill me should just come and kill me, they should stop attacking innocent souls because of me, even if they leave me alone when my time comes, I will die,” he said.
