Oshiomhole immortalises Gani
GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, weekend immortalised late human rights activists and lawyer, Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) by re-naming the area covering the newly constructed Constain/Isonorho road and the six adjoining lanes in Benin City, the state capital, Chief Gani Fawehinmi Layout.
The gesture which came one year after the death of Fawehinmi was witnessed by his widow, Mrs. Ganiyat Fawehinmi, scores of dignitaries including human rights crusaders like former secretary of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Frank Kokori, Femi Falana, Festus Keyamo and Ayo Opadokun.
Others at the occasion were the Action Congress (AC) gubernatorial candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Abdulwaheed Umar, represented by the Vice President of the NLC, Comrade Isa Aremu and Lanre Arogundade.
