IT is a generally accepted view that ignorance is dangerous and could be costly. In fact, the danger of hell can be averted only when a person is aware of it. It is then that he can take careful measures to steer clear of it in his daily living since there is no remedy in the grave (Eccl. 9: 10; Heb. 9: 27).

The scriptures in Rom.8:13-15 elucidate more on how to escape God’s judgement by being carefu1 through the knowledge of, and belief in Jesus by calling on Him for salvation.

“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men” (Titus 3: 8 KJV).

The above scriptural passage underscores the importance of being careful in anything we do, especially Christians because of the ultimate goal of making heaven where there will be no form of compromise (Heb. 1: 13; Eccl. 9: 18).

Even when a person feels okay physically and spiritually, yet the Bible says he still needs to be careful (I Cor. 10: 12).

However, when a person is ignorant of the danger ahead of him or around him, he is not likely to take any precaution against it. So the first step to avert danger, including that of hell fire, is to be aware of its presence as we can see in this short conversation between two people:

Bill: “How do you like this rainy weather’?

Joe: “It’s terrible”

Bill: ‘’And how is your wife”

Joe: “Oh, about the same’:

There is no limitation to the measure of carefulness a person, especially a Christian, must take.

This is because lack of it could be very costly and inflict permanent and irreparable damage on the careless person as we can see in the case of Esau in the Bible (Gen. 25: 32-34; Heb. 12: 17).
