Building self-esteem (II)
Welcome to another week with the Holy Spirit. Last week, I started a teaching on Building Self-Esteem. I started by giving you a fundamental understanding of your worth and importance, which are what build your self-esteem.
This week, we shall be exploring the Secrets That Enhance Your Self-Esteem – that is, how to carry and comport yourself with elegance without any pretence or ingenuity. This understanding will indisputably bring you added value, meaning, joy, fulfilment, which will augment your worth and acceptance, bringing you fulfilment in life.
What is Self-Esteem? It is a term used in psychology to reflect a person’s overall evaluation or appraisal of his or her own worth. Self-esteem encompasses beliefs and emotions such as triumph, despair, pride and shame.
Here are some secrets that enhance your self-esteem:
A Discovery of Your Life’s Purpose!
Discovering your life’s purpose entails engaging in doing something that interests you, something you are created for. There’s something that you were genuinely created for, to accomplish on this earth. God’s Word says: Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee…and I ordained thee…(Jeremiah 1:5). So, when you discover your life’s purpose, it will influence every other aspect of your life. You will have the key to happiness, satisfaction and fulfilment. May you find it on time!
Accept and Believe in what God made you to be!
You didn’t just happen; you were made – specially crafted to be a new creature (II Cor. 5:17), a royal priesthood (I Peter 2:9), salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13), the light of the world (Matthew 5:13-16), and an ambassador of Christ (II Cor. 5:20). It is the understanding of all these that will definitely enhance your carriage and comportment in no small measure.
Live life one day at a time!
God’s Word says: Be anxious for nothing (Philippians 4:6). The cares, riches and pleasures of this life choke up the destinies of many, thereby robbing them of the exemplary lifestyle they are destined to live (Luke 8:14). Instead, learn to talk to God about every area of concern in your life. Endeavour to live each day of your life as it comes to the full. You shall not fail!
In case you are not yet born again, you cannot align your self-esteem to God’s original intent. So, if you would like to, say this prayer of faith: Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today as a sinner. I believe You died and rose on the third day for my sins. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today.
