"AND I will make thee a great nation and I will bless thee and make thy name great; and thou shall be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed” (Gen 12:2-3).

When God was speaking about the future of Abraham, He mentioned the word ‘great’ two times, so when I am talking of you becoming great, it’s not my idea, I did not manufacture it. If you are born again, you are a child of God, you are the seed of Abraham; greatness is your portion. To be great is to be notable, eminent, distinguished and outstanding. When you are great, you cannot be ignored; you don’t need to advertise yourself. Greatness speaks for itself, otherwise it is not greatness.

God wants you to be great and I want you to begin to desire it not for you own personal aggrandizement but for the glory of God, so that God’s covenant may be established in your life and you can become a proof of His covenant. Your home will be great, your seed will be great, in your finances you will be great; your gender notwithstanding. The Bible talks of mighty men of valour and mighty men of wealth.

Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him and increased him (Isaiah 51:2).

God is saying ‘look at Abraham, what I did for him I want to do for you. I made him great and I want to make you great too’. Against all odds, God made him great despite the fact that his background of idolatry was so terrible. The God who singled Abraham out for greatness will single you out. This year, you will be distinguished among your colleagues. God will organise your greatness. He organised it for David who was a poor shepherd boy, unknown, unsung. By one act divinely orchestrated, he became great. Greatness is coming your way.

Think greatness because, “as a man thinketh in his heart so is he.” Do not let your thoughts be motivated by selfishness but rather let them be God-motivated. Think greatness in your business or chosen career. Do not relent: don’t allow God to rest until you make it and in Jesus’ name you will make it.

Greatness comes by covenant and a covenant does not die in one generation. It is passed on. Abraham passed the covenant on to Isaac and it was passed from generation to generation by them. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and David are all gone. They were great in their time. Now it is time for you to enjoy covenant greatness.
