Is there anybody crying out against you before the Lord? This is a question you have to answer with all integrity of heart so you can remove the barriers in the way of your breakthrough. If there is at least someone crying against you, justly, before the Lord, then, you have a case to answer.

God told the Israelites not to vex the strangers in their land, not to afflict the widows or the fatherless, not to oppress those who owe them money, and not to oppress or cheat any of their hired servants by refusing to pay their wages when it is due. God said if they do any of these, the people that are oppressed or cheated shall cry against them onto the Lord, and God would hear their cries and hold this as a sin against them. The Bible speaks extensively about this in the Old Testament (Exodus 22:21-24, 26-27. Deuteronomy 24:14-15. Job 34:28, Job 35:9, Psalm 12:5). James also wrote clearly about it in his epistle,

Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth (James 5:4, emphasis mine).

Is there anyone crying before the Lord against you? Anyone you robbed or cheated? Anyone you violated, abused or took advantage of? Anyone you owe and you’ve refused to pay? Anyone whose progress you are blocking or delaying? Anyone you refuse to give his/her due? It may even be your wife, your house help, your staff, your business partner or your junior. Be sincere as you search your heart, and may the Spirit of the living God reveal it to you.

If you are aware of any, the first thing to do is to be truly sorry and to sincerely repent before the Lord, confessing your sins. This is the first step to receiving mercy from the Lord, and the breakthrough you so desperately desire.

The next thing to do is to see how you can make amends with those people that are aggrieved, paying back what you owe, restoring back what you stole and asking for the forgiveness of those you have hurt. Sincerely, Jesus our Lord is very clear on this.

Lastly, rededicate yourself to the Lord, to see to it that you live your life each day without oppressing anyone, without violating any other person. Ensure that daily you have a clear conscience before God, and before man.
