YOUR ministry currently runs a programme tagged “9 Sundays of Divine Favour”, what would you say is the essence of the programme?
It is a programme inspired by the spirit of God to make as many as possible that will attend it obtain God's favour. The Israelites obtained the favour of God in their position of slavery, yet they left Egypt with gold and many gifts, because they obtained God's favour. What we should be asking for as a people is the favour of God. When you are favoured by God, your problems automatically come to an end. The programme, which will usher us into 2012, will definitely open gates of favour for those who come with the mind of receiving from Him. You will notice that the first day of this year is Sunday; this is symbolic. Sunday is a day of rest; it definitely shows that God wants to give His people rest in 2012.
Is divine favour automatic? If not, what are those essentials that qualify a man for God's favour?
It is not automatic. You have to be a child of God and be righteous before you can obtain His favour. God is a giver of gift. He gives special gifts to those who walk in accordance with his precepts. One of those gifts is favour. When you are favoured, mountains before you are subdued and victory is granted to you. Like I said earlier, you must know Him, before you are qualified to receive His gift of favour.
You operate a prayer ministry in many cities in Nigeria, judging from your experience as a prayer warrior, would you say some problems are beyond prayers?
Not at all. The name of this ministry is With God Prayer Ministry, what that means is that with God all things are possible. There is no problem that prayer cannot change, if the prayer is offered according to the will of God and the person offering it is not a sinner, because God does not listen to the prayers of sinners.
What about certain knotty problems in this country that remain unchanged, despite prayers from different quarters?
It is not proper to look at it that way. That Nigeria still remains one as a nation is as a result of the prayers of the saints. Prayer has done a lot of things in this country that are numerous to count. What you called knotty problems persist because of the sins of people in Nigeria. God does not hearken to the voices of sinners, this is why people must repent and seek God's attention while He is near. Let me say once again that it is prayer that has upheld Nigeria; the country is like Sodom and Gomorrah, killings of innocent people abound, all manner of morally reprehensible things go on here, if not for the prayers of children of God, Nigeria would have long ceased to exist as a nation.
You said God sent you to President Goodluck Jonathan, what is the message God gave you for him?
The Lord asked me to tell President Goodluck Jonathan to stop being fearful but trust in Him. God specifically told me to ask him why is he afraid? God wants Mr. President to desist from being fearful and putting his trust in man, but to trust in Him. The Bible says, “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help...”, President Jonathan should seek God with everything in him and avoid making the arm of flesh his confidence. There is a solution to the problems confronting this country, and that solution is in God. Let the president seek the Lord, reconcile with him and see those problems melt away. Above all, the Lord wants him to stop being fearful and look up unto him. He will supply him strength, courage and wisdom to surmount the problems the country currently faces.
Did God send you to the nation about its scary level of insecurity, especially the rampaging Boko Haram sect which seems to have declared war on the Nigerian nation?
God wants peace in Nigeria. He does not approve of the wanton destruction of lives and property by the Boko Haram sect. He wants them to repent, lay down their arms and ammunition and turn to Him. God does not want the death of a sinner, He wants him to repent. If God should visit his wrath on these killers, they will all rout in fire. I'm sure none of them can wait to bear the consequences of God's wrath. Some people are behind this sect. Some individuals are sponsoring them. They should desist before the wrath of God catches up with them. God said He would judge them in three ways. He said He would strike sponsors of Boko Haram with terrible sicknesses. He also promised to throw them into unimaginable shame and ultimately wipe off their generations from the face of the earth. Unless they repent, these verdicts will catch up with them.
The past presidents in Nigeria and other eminent Nigerians should as well speak up against this menace and find a way of ending it. Taking the lives of innocent people is abominable to God. Something has to be done about it.
What side do you take as far as the removal of subsidy on petroleum products is concerned this year?
It is a good idea, but the timing is wrong. Besides, the government is yet to demonstrate that it takes Nigerians into consideration before coming up with any idea. I believe it is proper for the government to put certain things in place before removing the subsidy.
On the new number plates, my advice to government is to allow car owners with old number plates to continue to use them, while new cars should be made to acquire the new number plates. It is not sensible to compel car owners with old number plates to discard the numbers and be made to get new ones.
What did God tell you about 2012?
It is a year loaded with good tidings. Opportunities, promotion, peace, joy and breakthrough abound in the year. However, these good tidings are for those who know God and seek him diligently. This year is for those who are obedient. He said specifically that He would elevate many in 2012, because many vacancies exist at the top. This is a year of elevation. God will elevate many, especially those who will run away from sins and be obedient to God.
What do you think should be the duty of the church in a society plagued with immoralities and evils?
The church has a duty to speak against those acts that contravene the precepts of God. The church is a place of refuge; many individuals who are confronted with one challenge or the other also find solution in the presence of God through the help of the church. We have a duty to correct, condemn and intercede if anything goes wrong in the society, and the church has not shirked from these responsibilities.
