Vogts: Nigeria made a wrong choice — Rainer

WILFELD Rainer, the German coach of the Burkina Faso, says Nigeria was wrong to have contracted Berti Vogts for the senior National team, the Super Eagles.

When defending the quality of German coaches over the world, he noted that Nigeria should have looked beyond a coach who polluted Nigerian system with German mentality.

''I know Berti Vogts very well and what he can do but what is German style? I have been a coach for 35 years, I teach coaches football at the highest level and I know a coach must have personal style of coaching and not a national character.''

He also frowned on foreign coaches who bring their assistants and interpreters to work in Africa.
