Korea to send Algeria off!
01.11.2009
KOREA Republic
is set to
compund the woes of African teams in the FIFA U-17 Championship as it confronts Algeria in their final preliminary match in Group F.
Billed for the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, the match means much to the Asians as far as their chances of qualifying for the knock out stage is concerned.
They are in dire need of victory or at least a point to be sure of picking a ticket to the round of 16, having amazed three points from their first two matches.
Korea started its campaign on a victorious note after beating Uruguay 3-1 only to fall 1-2 to Italy in the second match in which it surrendered a one goal lead.
A draw which will bring their points to four may still be enough to earn the Koreans a second round ticket, but that may not be dependable enough than the maximum points which would give them six points.
Although they as as good as out of the tournament, the Africans would not want to leave the shores of Nigeria without a point at least, hence the talk of an easy match for the Asians should be discarded.
