New look Ijebu-Ode ready for action

AS attention shifts
to Ijebu-Ode to
day for the last group E match between United States of America and the United Arab Emirate at the Gateway International Stadium,the ancient town is wearing a new look and agog for the championship.
Sunday Tribunesports on arrival in the town observed that the streets are under cleaning by environmental agencies who deployed their staff to carry out the exercise,even,the roads leading to the stadium have been costructed to give way for smooth transportation while the other roads leading to the stadium have been decorated with banners with inscription welcoming spectators, indigene, visitors and officials to the ancient town.Such banners carries inscription as,’’ Welcome to FIFA World Cup’’, OGD welcomes you ,enjoy good football’’ among others.
At the stadium,various committees were seen putting last minute finishing to their respective assignment in order to ensure necessary things are in place and ready for the match today with the assistance of FIFA officials who after the exercise expressed satisfaction with the personnel on ground for the programme.
A FIFA official in charge of organisation who spoke with Sunday Tribunesports but do not want to be mentioned said that everything has been going on smoothly with prompt response to their needs by the LOC officials even though “we do not expect to have 100% perfection but it is obvious that things are working as planned and hope it will remain so until the day of the match and even after’’, he said.
The paramedics were taking through training on how best to attend to an injured player or spectators during match by FIFA medical officials withing the pitch and in case of emergency to the waiting ambulance.
The Youth Manager for the Ijebu Ode Sub Seat Mr Elegbede was seen taking the kids /youth meant for ball boys,mascots,and flag bearers in through their training at the stadium.
