Kike Oniwinde is an Economics student at the School of Economics, University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom and a highly rated javelin thrower hoping to represent the United Kingdom at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil. Prior to her admission, she had made three straight A grades in Economics, Maths and Sociology, making her one of the best students at the institution, reports SEYI GESINDE.

Kike Oniwinde is an exceptionally gifted athlete and one of the best students the United Kingdom has produced in recent times.

In 2011 before she got admitted to the University of Nottingham, School of Economics, Kike recorded an outstanding acedemic performance, scoring three A grades in Economics, Maths and Sociology.

Now she stands tall in Nottingham School of Economics, pursuing a career at an institution known to have one of the largest Economics Departments in the UK.

Apart from that, the school is renowned for excellence in teaching and research across all areas of the discipline and for being at the cutting edge of contemporary economic thinking and analysis.

The Head of the institution, Chris Milner, who is obviously proud of Kike as his student said: “Our undergraduates, including Kike, typically entered with at least AAA at A level, which means that they are very strong academically.

“Our courses are well-respected by top employers for producing graduates with excellent transferable skills.

“To be able to balance the rigours of a course at Nottingham School of Economics with competing at this high level in athletics and also displaying entrepreneurial skills by setting up a business is to be greatly admired. We look forward to following Kike’s progress.”

Kike, a former Robert Clack School pupil, who lives in Dagenham, in the same year – 2011 emerged winner of the English Schools for javelin.

Now, she has her eyes firmly set on representing the United Kingdom at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

The Havering College’s Sixth Form 2011 Class in a published testimonies of their exceptional students, said Kike as a member of the class “manages to juggle her academic studies with her athletics training five times a week at Havering Mayesbrook Athletics Club and in the lead-up to her A Levels and during the exams, she even worked part-time as a sales assistant in John Lewis.”

Not minding her busy schedule, Kike said: “I do go out and socialise too – I love to party with my friends. I somehow manage to fit it all in with good time management. I am used to being very busy as I have been doing it since secondary school.”

Already, this year, Kike has represented Great Britain in javelin at the European Juniors in Estonia, coming 17th, and at the world trials, coming 8th, and although she knows she won’t be ready for the London 2012 Olympics, she is working towards 2016.

She said: “I am disciplined with myself – I have to be. My ambition is to be an elite athlete and an investment banker and you cannot do either of these without hard work and discipline.”

Kike, though a full student of Economics at Nottingham University, to maitain her top form as a javelin thrower,travels to Loughborough University each day to train on the athletics track and with the highly qualified coaches at the school’s sports college.
