HAPOEL Be'er Sheva of Israel's goalkeeper, Austin Ejide, says he is proud to answer Nigeria's calls even if he has to watch from the sidelines.

Ejide has been the second choice of Nigeria in goal as Vincent Enyeama continues to dominate the scene.

However, Ejide is prepared to wait for his time.

''There is always a time for everything'', he explained to Saturday Tribunesports.

''For one to be considered for invitation to a star-studded team like the Super Eagles is indeed a honour. I am always proud to be invited to the Eagles''

Ejide rates first-choice, Vincent Enyeama as deserving of the post and adds that in goal-keeping, there is no bitter rivalry.

''Whoever gets picked by the coaches has the support of the others, I know it could be my time again. The good thing is that the technical crew is giving everybody a chance.''

Ejide is the longest-serving Super Eagles' goalkeeper having made his debut in 2001, a year before Enyeama's appearance at the 2002 World Cup in South-Korea-Japan.

He commanded the first position under German coach, Berti Vogts at the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.
