Just like all those who were either re-elected or elected for the first time during the April 2011 general elections, Bauchi State governor, Alhaji Isa Yuguda, was among those who were inaugurated as the governor of a state for the second term of another four years after he was popularly re-elected by the people of the state against all odds, considering the opposition he faced from those who arrogated to themselves the roles of ‘political god-fathers’ swearing that nothing could be done without their express approval.

‘With this feat, Isa Yuguda can be described as a ‘cat with nine lives’ considering how he clinically defeated all those who ganged up against him within and outside the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but that is now history though. A confirmation of his clean victory can be attested to from the decision of all but one of the candidates who lost the gubernatorial election to Isa Yuguda, not to challenge the result at the election petition tribunal.

The main focus of this piece is the determination of the governor to ensure that his second tenure was used to correct all the mistakes made in the last four years, so that at the end, the administration would be satisfied that it has done its best to change the fortune of the state for better and in fact better than how he met it when he was first elected in 2007.

The governor has made it categorically clear that the next four years of his administration would not be business as usual, warning that no indolent behaviour will be tolerated from anybody no matter his or her position, in and outside government but reassured the people of the state that monumental changes would be effected in the affairs of the state in the next 100 days by the grace of the Almighty God, just as the administration will in the next four years adopt an open-door policy in order to move the state forward positively.

And in line with his campaign promises, the governor will next month embark on meet-the-people tour of all the wards in the twenty local government areas of the state with the aim of having first-hand experience of what the people at that level are going through, so that immediate actions could be taken.

The state-wide tour is to also ensure that all on-going projects and programmes were effectively monitored, completed and commissioned within the first 100 days of  his second term.

The governor has also assured the good people of Bauchi State that his administration would place high premium on the security of lives and property while a lot of investment opportunities would be explored to create jobs for the teeming youths in the state.

Governor Isa Yuguda had at the swearing-in-ceremony of the state’s new Head of the Civil Service, Abdon Dalla Gin alongside the Chief of Staff, Yusuf Musa Gumli, Special Adviser, Assembly Liaison, Jibrin Adamu as well as the Chief Press Secretary, Ishola Michael Adeyemi, held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House reiterated the commitment of his administration to ensuring that things moved positively in the state in the next four years.

He further declared that government business must be taken with the seriousness it deserves in order to be able to move ahead and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people, adding that the government will not hesitate to deal ruthlessly with anyone who may want to constitute a clog in the wheel of progress of the administration.

He, however, warned that personal and family issues should clearly be demarcated from official business because according to him, that is the only way things can move on urging all political appointees to ensure that they did their best to justify the confidence reposed in them.

The governor assured that his administration will ensure that all on-going projects and programmes would be completed while new ones that have direct bearing on the lives of the people will be embarked upon pointing out that: “our resolve is to work for the people of Bauchi State, who overwhelmingly voted for us. We will ensure that we did not betray the trust and confidence they have in us.”

He agreed though that, “in the last four years, we made some mistakes which we are not ready to repeat, we will only accept human errors which are very inevitable. Every of the resources available to government will be geared towards making better the lives of the people of the state because that was why in the first place we were elected.”

Yuguda enjoined the people of the state to embrace peace at all times saying, “as we are doing our best as government to protect lives and properties, citizens too should support us by giving security agents useful information that will expose criminals and their activities.” This surely is a demonstration of readiness to move the state forward, what Isa Yuguda needs now is support from all.

Last four years and the Next Ten years of Yuguda.( He will never make a difference)

He is a Total wastage to the people of Bauchi state. achieved nothing and will never achieve anything even given Ten more years! in the whole history of Bauchi state, we never ever had short sighted governor like him.Lacks everything from Vision to human concern.
