Ondo: 5000 PDP, ACN Members Defect To LP
The Labour Party (LP) in Ondo State received a boost on Friday in Okeigbo town in the Ile Oluji/Okeigbo local government area of the state, when a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) state Legal Adviser and the party’s House of Representatives aspirant, Professor Olusoga Olapade defected to the party in the state. He led over five thousand former members of the party to the LP.
Among the new members were a stalwart of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Ile-Oluji Okeigbo local government, Mr Biodun Fajuyibo and the ACN women leader in the Council, Mrs. Iyabode Fajuyibo who were received to the Labour Party by the National Chairman, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu.
Governor Mimiko, who was welcome to Okeigbo by a crowd during the continuation of his campaign tour of the local government disclosed that his administration has touched the lives of everybody in the state through various developmental projects it had executed within the three and a half years of his administration.
Enumerating the projects executed by his administration in the local government, Dr. Mimiko listed some of them as a Civic Centre at Olorunleke, Magistrate’s Court and water project at Okesa, Health Centres at Igbo Olodumare and Asanaaye, Town hall at Idiroko, while a civic centre at Surulere in Okeigbo has been equipped with twenty computers for the training of people.
