The Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Abuja, on Friday, got a 3.7 KVA solar powered generator worth 2.5 million from AO Demarg Nigeria Limited to boost its efforts in internal security operations.

Air Commodore Adesoji Baderinwa, Commander Defence Headquarters Garrison, receiving the generator on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Oluseyi Petinrin, said the generator would be deployed for operational use.

Baderinwa said the DHQ would ensure that it is taken to wherever the troops are deployed and faced with power problem.

He said “by the nature of the armed forces operations, they could be deployed anywhere in aid of civil authority and as a solar generator, whereever they found themselves, they are sure of power and this can power any equipment we have.”
