NANS Carpets College Administration

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone D, has taken a swipe at the Professor Adeyemi Idowu-led administration of the Adeyemi College of Education (EACOED), Ondo, Ondo State for what it described as its “retrogressive, mechanistic and unfeeling administrative policies and leadership style.”

In a release jointly signed by its Public Relations Officer, Comrade Taiwo Bamgbade, and co-ordinator, Comrade Adeyemo Monsuru, it saluted the “courage and carriage of students of the institution” since the commencement of their struggle, especially during the sudden death of the president of the Student Union Government (SUG) of the institution, Comrade Abiodun Akintola and his vice, Comrade Gbenga Oyebode, while alleging that the Provost of the institution, in a desperate bid to brand its leadership as good and progressive, have been meeting secretly and bribing past leaders of the union in order to compromise them.

It maintained, among other things, that the school must be re-opened as soon as possible, the SUG must be immediately reinstated, the students must not pay more than N5,000 as damage or reparation and the immortalisation of the late Comrades Abiodun Akintola and Gbenga Oyebode.

It, therefore, passed a vote of no confidence on the provost for failure to meet the stated demands.
