Justice Lateefat Folami, the vacation judge at the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, on Friday, directed the son of Bamanga Tukur, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Mahmud and some directors of Oil Marketing and Trading Companies (OM&Ts) who requested to travel abroad for hajj and business to take their application before Justice Habeed Abiru, the trial judge, who will soon return from vacation.

Justice Folami, while ruling on an application to travel brought by the trio of Tukur; Abdullahi Alao, son of prominent Ibadan businessman, Alhaji Abdulazeez Arikesola-Alao, and Mr Felix Ochonogor, who were granted bail by a sister court, held that she could not overrule the earlier order granted by the trial court which fixed the matter till 13 November, 2012.

The judge also held that she could not grant their prayers, especially when Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo, who ordered the seizure of their travelling documents, did so to ensure that they appear for their trial on the fixed date.

Justice Folami added that allowing them to travel for hajj rites, which will begin in October, will clash with the November date earlier fixed for trial by the court, adding that the dates purportedly meant for their business trip abroad had been overtaken by events.

The applicants, who were arraigned over alleged fraud in the Petroleum Support Fund (PSF), had applied to the court for a release of their travel documents to enable them attend hajj and business meetings in Paris and London.
