Robbers Invade Civil Service Commission Boss’ Home

Armed robbers have attacked the residence of Zamfara State Civil Service Commission Chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Gusau, and carted away some undisclosed amount of money and valuables worth several thousands of naira.

Findings by Saturday Tribune revealed that the hoodlums entered the house, which is located at Hayin Buba in Gusau metropolis around 3.00 a.m, when the entire members of the household had gone to sleep.

According to a witness’ account, the bandits began to knock at the doors of the occupants of the rooms, directing them to open their doors saying they have visitors.

The occupants of the rooms knew that they were invaded by strangers and as they made efforts to open their doors, they saw the hoodlums numbering about 20 strategically located in different areas of the house.

A source, who pleaded anonymity, told Saturday Tribune that “when we saw the bandits, we thought that they were going to kill our father because he is the chairman of the State Verification Committee, set up by the state government to authenticate the actual number of civil servants in the state.”

The source further added that “we became apprehensive when they asked us to take them to our father’s room. However, when they only started asking for money and other valuables we became a little relaxed.”

Investigations by Saturday Tribune revealed that the robbers carted away an undisclosed amount of money, jewelleries, handsets, electronics and laptops belonging to the extended members of the household valued at several thousands of Naira.

Though findings gathered that the security operatives were not intimated about the development but the state governor, Abdulaziz Yari, was said to have requested for mobile policemen to be deployed to the residence.
