Few hours after police raided the Bolori market in Maiduguri,the Borno State capital, the Joint Task Force on Operation Restore Order in the state have arrested 26 suspected Boko Haram members said to be responsible for the killing of two indians and several others in Maiduguri.

According to JTF, the arrest was carried out, following intelligence report and special operations conducted on July 26 and the early hours of Friday July 27, 2012.

In a release made available to Saturday Tribune in Maiduguri and signed by the JTF spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, the operation led to the arrest of 26 terrorists and the killings of two suspected members of Boko Haram terrorists at Biafra Bula-bulin, Kasuwan Shanu and GRA in Maiduguri metropolis.

“Some of the suspects killed and arrested were responsible for the killings of two Indians, a cleric and several other killings in

Maiduguri in the past.” the release stated.

It stated further that during the raid, items recovered were 2 AK 47 Rifles, 3 AK 47 Magazine, 200 rounds of 7.62 mm Special ammunition, a primed improvised explosive device which was detonated by the bomb disposal unit of the JTF, cutlasses, daggers and charms, and bloodstained clothes used during the killing of a cleric in Kasuwan Shanu, Maiduguri.

The released also said the items and suspects were in custody of the JTF for necessary action.
