THE Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Restore Order in Borno State, yesterday, paraded ten suspected armed robbers, who were arrested in two separate locations in Maiduguri. It was gathered that the ages of the suspects range between 16 and 22 years.

Spokesman of the JTF, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, who paraded the suspects at the 21 Armoured Brigade, Maiduguri, said following intelligence report, eight of the suspects were arrested at Muna Suburb, while the remaining two were arrested at GRA, all in Maiduguri.

Musa said the suspects have been entering residences of people and dispossessing them of their money and valuables. “When we got intelligence report, we raided the hideouts of the suspects and arrested them. We have completed our investigations and would hand them over to the police for prosecution,” he said.

In a related development, the spokesman of the JTF, on Friday, handed over two stolen vehicles to their owners.

One of the vehicles, a silver coloured Toyota Highlander Jeep was reportedly snatched at gunpoint at Pompomari area in Maiduguri and was consequently recovered by the operatives of the JTF in Kaleri, a suburb in the state capital.

According to the spokesman, the second vehicle, a Honda Hala with registration number AL 394 JMT was recovered at one of the JTF roadblocks along Damboa road in Maiduguri.

It was gathered that the vehicle was taken away at the premises of a bank in Gulak, Adamawa State, after some suspected armed robbers raided the bank  last month.
