The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oke Ogun chapter, has condemned the sack of 3,000 workers of the Oyo State civil service and 2,000 teaching staff and asked the government to recall them.

The party, at a meeting, on Thursday in Saki, said the state government had no justification for the sacking of the workers.

It also said that setting up committees to review the sack would not produce any worthwhile result and called on the government to recall the workers without delay.

In a communiqué signed by the Coordinator, Chief J.G. Adetoro and Recording Secretary, Alhaji Aliu Adetunji, a copy of which was made available to Saturday Tribune, the party said the proposal of the state government to site a satellite campus of the proposed state university in Oke Ogun was not acceptable to the people, saying that instead, the main campus should be located in any part of Oke Ogun.

The meeting also called for the total rehabilitation of Oyo-Iseyin, Iseyin-Moniya and Okeho-Moniya roads.

The party called on its national leadership to expedite action on the integration of Senator Rashidi Ladoja and his people back into the party.

It also thanked its South-West caucus for inaugurating the Dapo Sarumi committee to reconcile aggrieved party members in the state while lauding the efforts of Mr. Tajudeen Kareem, Mr. Hafeez Jimoh and Senator Gbenga Babalola in strengthening the party in the area.

According to the communiqué, the Oke Ogun chapter of the party had resolved to work for the unity of the party in the state, but asked that the area be given its share of benefits and due recognition in board and federal appointments.
