IN its bid to make the state the best administered in the country and the cynosure of all eyes where justice, fairness and equity shall be the driving force of government actions, the Dr Olusegun Mimiko’s administration in Ondo State, is set to launch an Urban Renewal Strategies programme to drive the vision even as it establishes a Commission Of Land Records Bureau.

Described as the pragmatic initiative of the Dr Olusegun Mimiko’s administration in practice, the government, in a statement, said the Urban Renewal programme is designed to make the town and cities in the state serene for living and work, decent for leisure and attractive to investors.

“In practice, the programme is a pragmatic initiative of the Mimiko administration designed to address the decaying urban infrastructure and services, and respond to the yearnings of the people for improved quality of life,” the statement read in part, adding that along with the community development initiatives, the vision encompasses the three levels of human settlements in the state namely the village, the town and the city.

Also speaking on the initiative, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, said the Urban Renewal Programme in the state is guided by principles enunciated in the vision and mission of the government.
