CHRISTIANS have been advised to see death as a transition to eternal life or damnation, depending on the choice they make in life.

This admonition was given by the Vicar and Archdeacon of the All Souls’ Church, Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State, Venerable (Dr) Olasode Olagbaju, at the burial ceremony of Engineer Adedoyin Olumuyiwa Fayiga, held at the church premises.

“Every one of us will end in eternity, whether we like it or not. It is left for you to choose to end in eternal life or eternal damnation,” he stressed.

While commenting on the life and times of the deceased, he observed that “he was a highly intelligent, fastidious, disciplined, transparent and strict individual.”

Also, in chat with Saturday Tribune, the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Ibadan, Most Reverend (Dr) Joseph Akinfenwa, described the deceased as a faithful member.

“He was an evangelist all his life, in spite of his professional duty. He lived well to serve his God. You can see from the array of people who are here today that he was a faithful child of God going home to rest. He died honourably and we are proud of him,” he added.

Speaking in the same vein, Engineer Fayiga’s brother, Mr Dokun Fayiga, described him as a man who would do anything to please anyone that came his way.

“He could part with anything to make you comfortable and was always ready to put smiles on the faces of everyone.”

Fayiga is survived by wife, Mrs Dayo Fayiga and three children — Seun, Kunle and Tokunbo.
