The seven-man committee set up after the crisis that rocked the popular Ladipo auto spare parts market in Lagos has submitted its report.

The committee condemned what it described as the intermittent closure of the market, as well as its constant invasion by hoodlums.

The committee,  headed by Mr Donatus  Atuey, in its report, blamed the crisis largely on the division among the executives.

It added that the fact that a government representative, Paramo Ventures, aligned  with a faction, aggravated the leadership tussle in the market.

The committee recommended that in order to facilitate the process of withdrawal of all the court cases, another committee should be constituted to consult with the parties and the lawyers involved.

It also  suggested that the market union’s constitution be upheld to avoid vacuum in leadership, while a committee should also be constituted to harmonize the present constitution.

The  committee also  suggested that an electoral body be appointed with the inclusion of all the groups for the purpose  of conducting a free and fair election.

The president of the union, Mr Jonathan Okoli, after the presentation of the report, commended the committee members for their efforts at ensuring peace in the market.

He urged the state governor, Mr  Babatunde Fashola, to show interest in the market and investigate the crisis.
