Life does not end here on earth as there is hope of resurrection for the dead in Christ unto life eternal. The above assertion summarises the message entitled “Hope after Death,” given by Reverend Canon Smart Ologbe during the burial       service for former Chief Editor of African Newspapers of Nigeria (ANN) Plc, publishers of Tribune titles, Honourable (Rot) Chief Babatunde Ayodele Omole, at The Cathedral of St. Peter, Ibadan North Diocese (Anglican Communion), Aremo, Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday.

In a relatively short sermon of a well-attended funeral, Reverend Ologbe harped on the need for everyone to settle scores with God through the Lord Jesus Christ who has been chosen as the only mediator between God and man, just as the late Omole conscientiously did before he was called unto glory on December 19, last year, at 87.

The man, Chief Omole, who was described as a thorn in the flesh of the colonialists during the pre-independence era of Nigeria through his articles as a journalist, was born to the family of Chief Edward Bamidele Omole of Elekunkun Compound, Oja’gbo Alafara, Ibadan, on December 10, 1924, passing through the tutelage of eminent personalities like the late Reverend Ransome Kuti, who was endeared to his diligence and superb academic performance as Principal of Abeokuta Grammar School in 1939.
