Kano Hisbah Destroys 34,000 Beer Bottles
AS a measure to en sure a strict compliance with the doctrine of the Shari’a legal system in Kano which prohibits the consumption and sale of alcoholic drinks, the men of Hisbah Commission have destroyed about 34, 000 bottles of beer at Dambatta Local Government Area of the state.
The destruction was witnessed by no fewer than seven local government council chairmen as well as three district heads and officials of the group.
Disclosing this to pressmen on Friday, the board’s secretary, Mr. Sunusi Aliyu Salisu, said the alcoholic drinks were impounded by men of the commission at different parts of the city between November and December last year.
According to him, during the said months vehicles conveying the drinks were intercepted along Zaria, Ibrahim Taiwo and Hadejia roads.
