THE Nigerian Army has reiterated its commitment to boosting the image of the country and protecting the interest of the citizens.

The Director of Public Relations, Brigadier-General Chris Olukolade, expressed the commitment in Ibadan, Oyo State, during a visit to the African Newspapers of Nigeria (ANN) Plc, publishers of the Tribune titles, as part of a media tour.

Olukolade said that the army remained a symbol of strength of the country, adding that part of the vision of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Abdulrahaman Dambazau, was achieving excellent civil/military relations.

He lauded the rich history of the Tribune, saying it had distinguished itself from other newspapers in its operations.

Receiving the team of the army on behalf of the management of ANN Plc, the Managing-Director/Editor-in-Chief, Reverend Sam Adesua, commended the sacrifice of the army in protecting Nigerians and its engagement in international peacekeeping operations.

He promised the army the support of the company in achieving its goals.

Reverend Adesua assured the army that the Tribune was behind any ideals that would unite Nigeria, while also urging it to maintain a good partnership with the media.
