ANPP May Not Present Presidential Candidate
INDICATIONS have emerged that forces working for the interest of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are bent on destablilising the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) and may be responsible for the recent crisis in the party.
Sources within the party told Saturday Tribune that the crisis was programmed to keep the party in perpetual crisis, thereby making it impossible for the party to field a presidential candidate for the next general elections.
According to the sources, one of the governors sponsored by the party is said to have been enlisted by agents of PDP to make sure that there is no presidential candidate for the ANPP in next year’s presidential election.
It was gathered that if the plan works out, it will significantly reduce the strength of the opposition, which the PDP would face in the next election.
As a compensation, the ANPP governor, who is from the North East, would be given a ministerial position.
The governor, the sources further said, was the one instigating crisis in the party to ensure that the party remains unstable until after the presidential election had been won by the PDP.
