THIS is the question that friends and admirers of Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa, a journalist-turned politician, have been asking since a report found its way to the public that the woman lawmaker was flown abroad for treatment of a major ailment.

The former Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) news reporter responded timely to puncture the story and restated her well-being to her friends and family members who heard the news and made frantic efforts to reach her in order to ascertain her health condition.

The House of Reps lawmaker, who claimed she was in South Africa for holiday, expressed shock when she started getting calls and get-well messages from the people. She quickly inquired and learnt of the report circulating about her back home.

Abike Dabiri was not the only victim of false rumour lately. The wife of a popular Lagos politician, who is currently in the National Assembly, was also rumoured to have succumbed to a dreaded disease and it took the timely intervention of her friends who denied the story to stop it from spreading further.
